He fiberglass veil It is a kind of fabric made of fiberglass, which is usually used for facades in poor condition or for plaster ceilings when they are very large or walls that are very deteriorated.
It is very easy to put on and it is 100% recommended if:
-You have very large plaster or plasterboard ceilings.
-If you have a very cracked facade and you are going to paint it.
-To make perfect smooths.
-To reinforce any wall or ceiling.
The veil is put on with veil glue, the glue can be found in any paint store, decoration or construction store.
The veil comes in royos a meter wide by about 30 meters long, and you can also buy it at any paint store or construction store.
If we are going to put veil for example on a facade, the first thing we must do is prime the surface to be treated with water-based fixative. In this case we would give the facade two coats of water-based fixative.
Once the fixer is dry, we cut a strip of veil as long as we can, imagine that the facade that you are going to reform and paint is 3 meters high because you cut a strip 3 meters long and smear it well with glue, you let the glue act for 5 minutes and then you take the strip and stick it on the wall, and with a plastic spatula you crush it from top to bottom and remove all the glue or air bubbles that it may have until the strip is completely glued without any wrinkles or air pockets. It is the same as putting wallpaper.
If the strip were 3 meters long, when we take it from one end to put it on the wall, the other end would drag on the ground and get dirty with dust and it would not be worth it. To avoid that, we glue the strip, let it act for 5 minutes and then fold the strip on itself, so that if the strip is 3 meters long when folding it is 1 and a half meters, in this way we can take it without worry about it getting dirty and it’s more manageable. When we are going to put it, we glue the top part and we unfold it little by little.
Next we cut another strip and we put it followed by the first strip that we put, we are putting strips until the wall is covered.
If the façade were larger than 3 meters we could not cut the strips so large because it would be very difficult for us to put them. But it is advisable to put the veil strips as big as we can to avoid so many splices and that the veil is more reinforced.
When we have the wall veiled, we give it another coat of fixer.
Once the fixer has dried we will have to show off the entire wall with putty and a trowel. We give it a coat or two if necessary of putty and then when the putty is dry it is sanded and a completely smooth and totally reinforced wall is left and in this way we avoid that we never get a crack or chip.

In the same way that it can be put on a facade, it can be put on a ceiling or wall.
On plasterboard or plasterboard ceilings when they are very large, it is advisable to put a veil because plasterboard and plasterboard have joints that open and crack the paint over time, leaving a crack or more. That is why it is veiled to reinforce, not break the plaster or paint.
